Ozark buys you trees and topography. Walkout basements, sloped lots and wooded acreage sit minutes from the square, and the Finley River corridor carries some of the best lots in Christian County. Prices run from starter ranches to custom homes on a few acres.

Republic has absorbed more new construction than any other town in the metro. For first time buyers and families moving up, it is often the same house for less money than inside Springfield, with newer schools and a short drive on James River Freeway.

East and north of the city the market turns rural. Rogersville, Fair Grove and Marshfield carry farmhouses, pasture, outbuildings and hobby farms. These sell on land quality, water and access as much as on the house, which is a different conversation than a subdivision listing.
